As an economic development practitioner, consultant and volunteer for more than 25 years, David Dodd is experienced in every level and facet of economic, community and business development. But his passion is all about creating a better future for those affected by disaster.
The turning point for David’s professional career and focus was in 2005. That year he served as lead consultant and facilitator for a milestone event that helped launch the Gulf Coast’s recovery, following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Today, through his primary consulting business DADCO Consulting Inc., based in Louisiana, David continues to provide his expertise in developing strategic action plans for disaster recovery and reinvestment. From the development of a reinvestment strategy for the Mexicali Valley in Baja California, to helping the seafood sector in southeast Louisiana after the BP oil spill, to now providing ideas to rebuild the devastated northeast coast of Japan – David’s ultimate goal is to help people recover their lives, businesses and communities around the globe.
You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.
– Thomas Woodrow Wilson
